5-STEP FERTILIZATION PROGRAM

STEP 1

Late March, Early April

Liquid fertilizer with nitrogen, potassium, and iron. This application also has the first part of our split app pre-emergent for crabgrass control and control of other weeds. We use a split application of pre-emergent to give your lawn a longer window of control over crabgrass.

STEP 2

May

Liquid fertilizer, the fertilizer blend is similar to step 1, but has more nitrogen in it to help get the turf really growing going into summer. This is also the second app of the split pre-emergent applications for crabgrass control and control of other weeds.

STEP 3

Late June, Early July

Granular grub control fertilizer. Grubs can cause damage to grass plant roots if not treated. We treat them late June to early July because this is just before the time that eggs will be laid. The active ingredient in the grub control product then prevents the grub eggs from hatching and damaging turf.

STEP 4

August

Liquid fertilizer with nitrogen, potassium, and other micronutrients. This app also includes a post-emergent weed killer to kill any weeds present in the lawn.

STEP 5

September – October

ranular winterizer fertilizer; this product includes high amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, iron, and calcium.
